WiderLearning delivers a range of established training programmes for pupils in Primary, Secondary, Special schools, Alternative Providers, FE and beyond.

We have an established range of programmes that enhance self awareness, develop peer support and peer mentoring skills, improve transition processes and support the relationship between emotional health, and physical activity.


 

Positive Friendships and Relationships for KS2 children.

WiseUP! helps children to think about keeping themselves safe. They will learn about safe and positive friendships and relationships, who their trusted adults are and how to talk about feelings and emotions.

Delivered to whole classes of Y4 children over a minimum three one and a half- hour sessions. WiseUP! is a programme that builds on the messages from our Y2/3 BeWISE! programme. The WiseUP! programme covers the following:

  • Important things about ourselves, our friendships and our relationships with other people

  • Words to use and how to be able to talk about

    things in a safe way, even in difficult situations

  • How we might feel in different situations, the emotions we may have and how we might respond

It uses practical, age appropriate, fun activities and involves pupils in discussions, talking, role play and group tasks.

Promoting Online Safety in schools through the training, support and development of Pupil Digital Ambassadors.

This programme will raise and improve the profile and understanding of Online Safety and safeguarding issues in your school by establishing and supporting a group of trained peer Digital Ambassadors. It tackles issues around online risk, sharing personal information, digital footprint/ online reputation and age appropriate content.

Digital Ambassadors Plus promotes online safety and Digital Resilience in schools and extends the role of trained Pupil Digital Ambassadors. KS2 & KS3

The programme is delivered through 3 modules that focus on pupils online and offline lives, including the following:

  • Self-Respect and Respect for Others

  • Healthy Habits

  • Staying in Control

  • Maintaining Positive Relationships

  • Digital 5 A Day

Pupils are encouraged to complete tasks between each module that create content to help them share their online safety messages around their school community.

The Xplore Programme is a two day training programme for Primary school pupils in Y4-Y6 to enable them to become peer Activity Leaders.

Xplore trains pupils to provide additional capacity and support for positive playground activities and other physical activity promotion. It aims to change behaviours around young people’s health and wellbeing.

First steps in Peer Support, Peer Mentoring and Peer Leadership Training for KS2 & KS3 pupils

Steps is an intensive two day peer support and peer mentor training programme. It is designed to equip pupils in Y4-7 with skills and expertise to effectively and safely support their peers and to develop roles and responsibilities in school that promote a safe and positive ethos and culture.

Aimed at pupils in Secondary School and beyond

CHAMPS is an accredited two-day peer mentoring short course aimed at students in Secondary School and beyond. It provides a detailed and age appropriate exploration of self-awareness, self-confidence, communication skills, the needs of others, rules, boundaries, confidentiality, disclosure and ethics.

This nationally recognised ASDAN accredited training programme can lead to the award of between 1 and 6 ASDAN credits. It helps to deliver improved self-awareness, increased resilience, raised self-esteem and confidence. It develops character and provides pupils with skills to support and mentor their peers in a range of settings. In addition, it provides evidence for schools to support the promotion of British Values of respect, tolerance, the rule of law and an appreciation of equality and competitiveness.
